What your final score will mean
Sources and method
The numeric regional comparison uses SwiftStream internal reference averages. The assessment framework, maturity categories, and interpretation are contextualized by external research on SMB data management, digital maturity, and data governance.
External reference research includes:
- Forrester Consulting study commissioned by AWS, June 2023: online survey of 320 data and analytics decision-makers at SMBs across APAC, EMEA, and North America.
- EDM Association Global Data Management Benchmark Report, 2026: responses from more than 435 organizations across more than 50 countries.
- IDC SMB Digital Maturity Index Study: survey of 1,340 SMBs across 14 Asia-Pacific economies, covering strategy and organization, processes and governance, technology, and people and skills.
- S&P Global Market Intelligence 451 Research SMB data and AI survey: global survey of more than 2,300 SMBs on data use, data strategy maturity, investment, and AI adoption.
These external studies inform the assessment’s structure and interpretation. They do not provide a direct, like-for-like regional score for each of the six areas; the numeric regional comparison remains based on SwiftStream’s internal reference dataset.

Use Your Results to Prioritize Practical Improvements
Focus first on the data that supports important decisions, recurring work, customer experience, or cash flow. Small, well-scoped improvements are often more useful than a broad transformation program.
Explore advisory supportThis assessment measures current practice as reported by the respondent. It is a management diagnostic intended to support internal discussion and prioritization. It is not a security audit, penetration test, compliance certification, or legal advice.
